Reporting with Impact: Getting the Annual MLRO Report Right

The Institute, in partnership with Michelman Robinson, is pleased to announce its next Joint Quarterly MLRO Forum, taking place on 19 January 2027.

With the start of the new year bringing the MLRO Annual Report into focus, this session will explore how MLROs can turn an annual reporting obligation into a meaningful tool for governance, oversight and decision making.

The discussion will consider how to go beyond a summary of compliance activity and produce a report that provides genuine insight into a firm’s financial crime risks, assesses the effectiveness of its controls, identifies material weaknesses and evidences progress against remediation plans. It will also examine how MLROs can ensure their reporting supports effective Board challenge, informs strategic priorities and demonstrates that financial crime risks are being appropriately identified, managed and monitored.

The forum will provide an opportunity for MLROs and other financial crime professionals to exchange practical experience, discuss common reporting challenges and consider how to make the Annual MLRO Report more effective, informative and valuable to senior management and the Board.
