Making the Case for Investment in Compliance
In the current economic climate, how do you make the case for investment in compliance?
Against a backdrop of continued economic pressure, many organisations are reviewing expenditure, reducing recruitment and seeking greater efficiency across their compliance functions. While disciplined cost management is understandable, what are the longer-term implications of reducing investment in financial crime compliance?
This timely and practical session will explore the potential consequences of under-investment in compliance, including the impact on organisational resilience, regulatory risk, professional capability and the effectiveness of financial crime prevention frameworks.
Our expert panel will consider how MLROs and other senior financial crime professionals can make a compelling business case for appropriate investment, communicate effectively with senior management and boards, and demonstrate the value that a well-resourced compliance function brings to the wider organisation.
The discussion will focus particularly on the practical challenges faced by MLROs when seeking additional resources, including recruitment, technology, training and broader compliance expenditure. We will also explore how financial crime professionals can frame these issues in a way that resonates with senior decision-makers and supports better-informed strategic decisions.
