The Institute is pleased to announce the launch of a new Quarterly MLRO Forum, delivered in partnership with Michelman Robinson, an international law firm recognised for its deep expertise in financial services regulation and compliance.
Based in London, the Quarterly MLRO Forum will provide a dedicated platform for Money Laundering Reporting Officers to share knowledge, examine emerging risks, and collaborate on the most pressing AML and financial crime compliance challenges facing the sector.
Each session will bring together MLROs from across the financial services industry for open discussion, peer learning, and benchmarking of compliance approaches. Focus areas will include evolving regulatory expectations, sanctions implementation, beneficial ownership transparency, AI-driven detection technologies, and the practical realities of managing regulatory remediation programmes.
Distinguished speakers from industry, regulatory bodies, and policy institutions will contribute to the programme, offering perspectives on enforcement trends, supervisory priorities, and the wider financial crime landscape. The Forum’s interactive structure—combining roundtable dialogue, hands-on workshops, and evening networking dinners—is designed to encourage candid, solutions-oriented conversation while strengthening professional networks.
Commenting on the launch, Pete Dougherty, Chair of The Institute, said:
“This Forum underscores The Institute’s commitment to supporting MLROs through meaningful peer exchange, collaborative problem-solving, and practical learning. Our aim is not only to share expertise but to foster a trusted space for professional dialogue.”
Ruth Paley, Partner at Michelman Robinson, added:
“We are proud to partner with The Institute on this initiative, which reflects our shared commitment to advancing compliance standards and promoting strong AML leadership across the sector.”
Participation is open exclusively to practising MLROs. Those interested in attending are invited to complete the expression-of-interest form below; confirmed participants will receive full event details and joining instructions.
Further updates on session dates, guest speakers, and registration deadlines will be posted on The Institute’s website under the Events section.
