Financing of the Terrorist Organisation Islamic State and How to Counter It

Adam Pacifico returned as chair with Jonathan Russell - Quilliam opening with an engaging speech on "Financing the Terrorist Organisation Islamic State and how to counter it", followed by excellent speakers on the first day from the NCA, FCA, HM Treasury, Gambling Commission, ICAEW and SRA.

Day two was equally comprehensive with an excellent opening presentation from Mike Gillespie, Director at the Security Institute. Mike delivered an enlightening presentation on the need for increased UK Cyber Posture awareness and the requirement for a culture change in UK businesses.

UK's fight to cut serious and organised crime

Detective Superintendent Jon Benton, Joint Head of the International Corruption Unit at the NCA discussed the transition to the NCA to lead the UK's fight to cut serious and organised crime.

Additional presentations from Simon Hills, BBA and Daren Allen, BLP covered the implications on the MLRO of the Senior Managers Regime and Emma Radmore and Nicholas Ralph - Dentons gave an update on sanctions covering the UK, US, EU and the former USSR.

The conference was brought to a successful conclusion with an engaging and entertaining session from the notable Jonathan Fisher QC including his perspective on Intelligence sharing and the effectiveness of the SAR’s regime, in addition to bringing to life concerns, challenges and issues faced by the reporting sector.
